Savor the flavors and feel the fun at Pioneer Park! Browse food and beverage booths offering tasty eats and refreshing non-alcoholic drinks, then take in the sights and sounds of the carnival with classic rides, midway games, and bright lights.
Face Painting & Balloon Twisting
Watch as Rockie's Faces, on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, transforms faces with colorful and creative designs, from playful animals to fantasy characters, in addition to crafting amazing shapes and figures with balloons that will bring smiles to kids and adults alike.
Lucha Libre (Wrestling)
Watch as professional luchadores take to the ring, set up in Pioneer Park, delivering thrilling matches full of dynamic moves, colorful costumes, and dramatic showdowns. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the world of Lucha Libre, this action-packed event offers a unique and exhilarating experience for all.

An Evening Under the Stars
Come be part of a fantastic evening featuring wine and micro-brew tastings, live and silent auctions, exciting raffles, and delicious hors d'oeuvres, all while supporting the Newman Fall Festival! Held at the Newman Downtown Plaza (1328 Main Street), tickets are $45/person and the event is for guests aged 21 and over. Get your tickets at Pizza Plus (1420 Main Street, Newman - cash/check only), via Venmo for will call, or at the door (while supplies last). This popular event often sells out quickly, so be sure to secure your tickets early!
Volleyball Tournament
Bump, set, spike your way to victory in the annual Volleyball Tournament at Densmore Park! Signups start at 8:00 AM, with teams split into upper and lower divisions. Entry is $10 per person and includes a commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last). For more details, contact Kiyo Yamamoto at 209.862.0620.
Baking Contest Drop-Off
Submit your delectable creations at the L.J. Newman Memorial Center (649 Orestimba Road). Participants are invited to bring their best baked goods to be judged. Whether you’ve perfected a pie, mastered a cake, or baked a batch of irresistible cookies, this is your chance to shine.
Booths
Stroll through the booths at Pioneer Park and discover delicious food, refreshing drinks, unique retail and commercial vendors, and engaging informational displays. While you shop and explore, enjoy live musical entertainment all day from Sounds in Motion at the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage.
Cruzin' Critters
Held at the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, this engaging and entertaining event features a dynamic showcase of fascinating animals, including exotic and unusual critters. Watch as expert handlers introduce you to a variety of creatures, sharing interesting facts and stories about each one.
Kid's Zone
Hosted by the City of Newman Recreation Department at the center of Pioneer Park, the Kid's Zone offers a number of exhilarating activities for kids of all ages. Expect creative crafts, interactive games, and much more, all designed for endless fun and engagement.
Pets on Parade
Each pet will have the opportunity to shine as their unique qualities are highlighted and celebrated on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage. Owners are encouraged to bring their pets’ best smiles and distinctive traits for a chance to impress the judges and win special awards.
A new category is being introduced this year: Pets for Adoption, presented by the Newman Animal Shelter in partnership with Cause for Paws.
Fire Obstacle Course & Fire Truck Rides
Experience excitement with the Newman Fire Department on Fresno Street, between Q and R Streets. Test your agility through a challenging fire-themed obstacle course. After conquering the course, enjoy a memorable ride on a real fire truck! Get an up-close look at fire-fighting equipment and learn about the crucial work of our brave firefighters.
Carnival
Step right up and enjoy the excitement of the carnival! From classic rides and midway games to tasty treats and bright lights, there's fun for all ages day and night.
NCLUSD Musical Theatre Department
This talented group of students, on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, will entertain with a selection of hit songs from popular musicals and classic favorites. Their vibrant voices and engaging stage presence promise to deliver an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Folklorica Cultural Dancers
Experience the vibrant traditions of the Folklorica Cultural Dancers on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage. Dressed in colorful costumes, they bring cultural stories to life through music and dance, captivating audiences of all ages.
Cantares de Mi Tierra Band (Trio)
Enjoy the rich sounds of the Cantares de Mi Tierra (Trio) on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, blending lively rhythms and heartfelt melodies that celebrate the spirit and traditions of their cultural roots.
Battle of the Bands
Head to the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage and watch local bands light up the stage. Enjoy an evening of high-energy music and hometown talent.
Little Mr. & Miss Newman Pageant and Miss Newman Pageant
Experience the charm and charisma of our Little Mr. & Miss Newman contestants as they captivate you with their dances, playful answers to questions, and delightful interviews. Following this, enjoy watching our Miss Newman contestants demonstrate their talents in public speaking, community representation, and performance. Both pageants will take place on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, offering a fantastic opportunity to support and cheer on our future leaders while enjoying a memorable event with your community.
Kid's Dance Party
Open to kids of all ages (yes, even grown-ups), this lively event turns the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage into an open-air dance floor. With upbeat music and plenty of room to move, it’s the perfect way to celebrate and dance the night away under the stars.

Car Show
Explore an impressive array of classic, vintage, and custom cars on display on Tulare Street, between Q and R Streets. Entry is just $10/car. For more information, contact Don Gomes at 209.765.1273. Co-sponsored by West Side Auto Club.

Downtown Historical Walking Tour
Discover Newman’s rich past on the Downtown Historical Walking Tour, which starts at the Newman Museum, located at 1209 Main Street. Stroll through Newman's historic downtown, hear stories of the town’s early days, and see landmarks that have shaped the community’s character for over a century.
The Newman Museum will also be open from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Tour highlights of some of Newman's historical homes, businesses, and local lore.
Parade & Baking Contest Awards
Gather at the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage as all winners are announced and honored. From parade floats to delicious baked goods, see the best of the festival celebrated in style.
Spotlight Dance Co.
Enjoy a dynamic performance on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage as Spotlight Dance Co. showcases skill, style, and energy in a show that’s sure to impress audiences of all ages.
Cornhole Tournament
At Densmore Park, teams face off in Advanced, Competitive, and Social divisions for an afternoon of friendly competition and festival fun. Sign-ups are available through the Scoreholio app (“Newman Festival”) or in person before 2:00 PM on tournament day, with registration closing once capacity is reached. Tropicana Dance Social Club
Enjoy dancing on the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage, as it turns into an open-air dance floor, groovin’ to the Latin tropical beats of Instrumental Latin Jazz and Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Cha-Cha-Cha, Merengue, and Banda in Spanish, Spanglish, & English!

Car Show Awards
Watch as the winners from the Car Show, co-sponsored by the West Side Auto Club, are announced and honored for their craftsmanship, style, and dedication to automotive excellence.
Newman's Got Talent
Local stars take the Pioneer Park Gazebo Stage to share their music, dance, and more in a showcase of the community’s diverse talents and creativity.
Co-Ed Softball Tournament
At Barrington Fields, co-ed teams hit the diamond for the Softball Tournament, with 10 players plus alternates (minimum 6 men, 4 women). Pre-registration is required, and the entry fee is $240 per team. For questions or to register, contact Marc Chittim at 209.262.5420.
